Your diet can improve your eyes!

We’ve all grown up thinking carrots will help us see better in the dark, and there is truth to that!

Certain nutrients can positively impact on eye health.  Vitamin A is essential for good vision.  Sources of Vitamin A are eggs, dairy products, liver and plant sources which provide one of the carotenoids Beta Carotene i.e. butternut, carrots, yellow peppers.

Other carotenoids that benefit eye health include Lutein and Zeaxanthin which reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration of the eye.  Sources of these are also the orange & yellow veg, plus spinach, broccoli and egg yolks.

Who knew that a chicken and veg stir-fry or a classic eggs benedict can save your eyes!
