Hot Tomato Chutney Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

  • 15ml SPAR olive oil
  • 1 SPAR Freshline onion, peeled and chopped
  • 2 SPAR Freshline garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • 10 large SPAR Freshline tomatoes, seeds scooped out and discarded, flesh chopped roughly
  • 2 SPAR Freshline red chillies, finely chopped
  • 125ml red wine vinegar
  • 110g SPAR sugar
  • 250ml sterilised jar to store

Recipe Method

  1. In a large pan or pot, add a drizzle of olive oil and fry the onion until soft, about 10 minutes. Add the garlic and fry for a further minute.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer, stirring occasionally, until a jammy consistency, about 30 – 40 minutes.
  3. Store in sterilised jars and use within 1 month.
